Arthritis associated with inflammatory bowel disease 12% in ulcerative colitis and 20% in Crohn’s disease

It usually involves large joints of the lower limb.

Arthritis usually coincides with exacerbations of underlying disease.

Sometimes it may be associated with mouth ulcers, iritis, and erythema nodosum.
