Skin bacterial infection

Causes

Mainly streptococcus pyrogens and staphylococcus aureus

Clinical features

Honey crusted vesiculopustular skin lesion on the face

Diagnosis

Usually clinical diagnosis

Swab MC and S / Nasal swab

Management

Mild cases – topical antiseptic (Chlorhexidine), Topical antibiotic (Bactroban) daily for 10 days

Moderate to severe cases (Flucloxacillin, Cephalexin)

Exclusion from school
